DLZ is pleased to announce that Quentin Smith, PE, has joined the firm’s Kentucky team as a Planning Project Manager. With over 19 years of experience with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, Quentin served in various roles with District 11, including Design, Construction, Maintenance, and most recently, Planning. His experience will enable the pursuit of expanded services within the Kentucky operations providing a more local presence for planning capabilities.
Prior to working with the Cabinet, Quentin worked over eight years in the private sector with experience in Coal and Limestone Mining, Utility Design and Inspection, Industrial and Residential Site design, Construction Material Testing, Division of Mining, Abandoned Mine Land Slide Repair Inspection, and other aspects of Engineering Practice.
Through his experience with the Cabinet, Quentin has developed relationships with all levels of government within southeastern Kentucky and in Frankfort. He has served as an expert witness for Right of Way acquisitions for multiple KYTC districts and plans to continue that effort as a member of DLZ, providing our clients with yet another service previously not considered.
