Marysville Trunk Sewer & Force Mains

Marysville, Ohio

DLZ provided the City of Marysville, Ohio with preliminary and detailed design for the Trunk Interceptor Project (TIP), including the preparation of construction documents, assistance with bidding and construction administration and management including full time inspection, testing, observations and preparation of As-Built drawings.

The scope of TIP consisted of providing a plan to collect and transport flow from the existing Wastewater Treatment Facility (WWTF) to the proposed Marysville Water Reclamation Facility (MWRF) and provide gravity connections along the alignment for existing pump stations within the project area so that they may be abandoned in future.

This entailed the design and construction of approximately six (6) miles of new trunk sewer, of which four (4) miles included the design and construction of 60” diameter gravity sewer and two (2) miles of twin, parallel 24” and 30” force mains.  This project also included the design and construction of six (6) pump station abandonments.

Innovative Construction Techniques utilized included:

  •  Microtunnelled significant portion of the 60” gravity sewer
  • Cofferdam construction of the Mill Creek river crossing
  • HDD installation of the twin force main pipes to cross Industrial Parkway
  • Jack and Bore installation of the twin force main pipes to cross the SR 33
