Wet Weather Program Management

Indianapolis, Indiana

DLZ served as the lead consultant providing wet weather program management (storm water, combined sewer overflow, and sanitary) for the city of Indianapolis, Department of Public Works. DLZ provided the professional engineering and added administration services for the program.

The program consisted of planning phases to design and construction phases for the combined sewer overflow long-term control plan (LTCP), septic tank elimination projects, infiltration and inflow studies, rehabilitation projects, wastewater treatment facility and lift station assistance, and storm water projects. Also included was associated public and civic communication assistance with outreach and education activities.

DLZ’s involvement in this program began in 2001. The city implemented a storm water utility, and the department hired DLZ as their inaugural Program Manager to oversee and manage the implementation of their capital improvement and maintenance programs as well as the utility. DLZ’s program management grew to encompass the entire wet weather program in December of 2004.
