Ottawa County Family Justice Center
Ottawa County, Michigan has contracted DLZ to provide A/E design services for a new Family Justice Center to be located on the government complex campus in West Olive, Michigan.
The proposed project program totals approximately 56,000 SF to accommodate courtrooms and administrative office space for Juvenile Court, Probate Court, Friend of the Court, the County Clerk, and Probation services.
In addition to operational efficiencies gained from modern offices and courtrooms, project goals include improved public services, access to information, screening and assessment, state-of-the-art security, court case management, and A/V systems.
Site Development includes parking with bio-swales for storm water management and infrastructure for future EV charging. The proposed project will also integrate with the trail system of an adjacent County Park. The project has been awarded as an Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) Agreement with Granger Construction. Construction is anticipated to start in 2022 with completion anticipated in 2024.
ART IN ARCHITECTURE
Art installation opportunities include community gardens integrated with walking trails adjacent to the site, sculpture as an organizing element within the site, large format artwork in the atrium, and small-scale pieces adjacent to each courtroom.
