Wind Energy
Wind power has consolidated as a renewable energy source in the last 2 decades. By the end of 2020, the global installed capacity has surpassed 730 GW, mostly in onshore installation. Technology has evolved and onshore wind turbines have reached an average capacity of 2 MW per unit. Higher capacity factors allow wind power installations to represent over 6% of the global electricity mix.
Through its Latin American subsidiary, DLZ Carbon has positioned itself as a regional leader in engineering services for wind power. Full services for the balance-of-plant (BoP) have been provided for 124 MW of wind parks in Costa Rica and Honduras and for an additional 120 MW of feasibility studies and BoP basic design. Special expertise has been developed in foundation design and review for wind turbines of up to 80 m of height, including pile design and foundation slab design.
