Intercity Bus Transportation Facility
DLZ coordinated the design interests of the City of St. Ignace, Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) and local businesses/residents to develop the new 4,000-square-foot facility. DLZ designed the facility to satisfy the owners desire to have the building express an Upper Peninsula character and to make future renovation efforts for the City more cost effective.
The facility design includes a 24-hour accessible passenger waiting/ lobby area, vending machines, ticket office and package express area, passenger rooms, three drivers sleeping rooms with private restrooms, drivers lounge, laundry service area, and attached 3,000-square-foot bus canopy with provisions for three intercity style motor coach bus bays.
