Akron Wolf Ledges Engineering Building, University of Akron, Ohio

The University of Akron has completed the construction of a new 35,000 square foot Engineering Research Center for Akron Wolf Ledges Engineering Building. The College of Engineering will be home to many unique and innovative laboratories. As a facility constructed primarily for laboratory uses, the HVAC system design was critical.

DLZ designed a system fed by the university hot water loop while utilizing individual chillers for each rooftop unit. Exhaust fans also included a heat recovery system that returned tempered water back to the unit coils. Our professional services included architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and professional surveying and geotechnical engineering services.
