Pantasma Hydroelectric Plant, Nicaragua
This hydroelectric project uses the waters of the Pantasma river, with a reservoir of more than 845 000 m3 in normal operation, has a concrete weir dam and 131 m embankment dam to complete the closure. Water is caught by an intake system and conducted through a 4204 m long low-pressure pipe, split into two sections, separated by an 818m long tunnel, up to a 34.15 m surge tank, cushioning overpressures generated in the high-pressure, steep fall pipeline. The gross head of the project is 400 m.
DLZ Carbon was hired by Hidropantasma S.A. to review the project’s budget, making the final design and construction plans for civil works.
