Meridian Woods 1.0 MG Elevated Water Tower
DLZ provided facility planning, design, construction inspection, and startup services to construct a 1.0 MG water tower. The new tower was constructed to enhance fire protection and water pressure in the City of Valparaiso’s water distribution system.
The new tank was composed of a concrete pedestal with a steel bowl, 145 feet high, with a capacity for 1,000,000 gallons of water. A hydraulic analysis of the entire Valparaiso distribution system was completed to assure proper operation of the new water tower within the existing pressure district. The design also included cathodic protection, foundation, fall protection equipment, site grading, and drainage.
