USPS Cincinnati Burnet Woods Station Alternate Quarters Renovation

The project includes a full renovation of new lease space to accommodate a new retail station in Cincinnati’s Burnet Woods neighborhood. The retail station replaced a former post office, about one block down the street. This space provides a more efficient alternative and the location is better suited for pedestrian traffic.

The renovated space includes a full-service customer lobby, a box lobby, a small workroom, and an employee restroom. Modifications were made to the HVAC, plumbing, electrical, technology, and security systems to accommodate USPS Standard Design Criteria.

The exterior storefront system and exterior doors were replaced to accommodate the needs of the new post office. This included a new glass door for the public entry and a new solid door for the secure workroom entry. The wall between the lobby and the workroom is a security wall, per postal retail standards.

The scope of this project required minor modifications to the sidewalk to maintain compliance with RE-4 Standards for Facility Accessibility. The project utilized current postal retail standards for casework and signage.
