USPS Green Bay P&DC Carrier Annex Expansion

As a part of a design-build team, DLZ performed professional A/E design services including architecture, civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical engineering. The project included a new 13,000 square foot building addition to accommodate a new carrier annex at the USPS Green Bay P&DC. The building expansion was constructed using precast concrete wall panels and steel roof framing.

DLZ designed new HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, technology, and security/CCTV systems for the building expansion. The project utilized energy-efficient lighting, controls, and HVAC equipment to optimize energy consumption and minimize long-term operational costs.

The project also included a new parking lot for LLV vehicles and an expansion of the employee parking lot to accommodate parking spaces that were displaced by the building addition. The parking lot expansion required extensive site grading to achieve acceptable slopes in the parking lot and stormwater management measures to achieve proper drainage.

The project was on a fast-tracked schedule to achieve the project’s goals and was completed with an ambitious schedule. DLZ worked closely with the USPS and the contractor to meet the required timeline and maintain efficient postal operations.
