Xacbal Hydroelectric Plant, Guatemala

Hydroelectric project using waters of the Xacbal river through a diversion dam with lateral intake structure with a capacity of 57.4 m3 / s, discharging into a 751 000 m3 reservoir. It has a desander with 4 independent chambers, a 4600 m long tunnel, a semi-underground surge tank, and a pressure line for a gross head of 199 m. The powerhouse has two vertical shafts Francis turbines.

DLZ Carbon was hired by the Terra Group as the project’s owner engineer, which included the review of the final design and plans, as well as advising in the field supervision of civil works.
