Airport Facilities
DLZ has experience reviewing a variety of airport facilities for compliance with the ADA. This includes small public terminals at General Aviation airports and terminals leased by private carriers. Additionally, DLZ performs evaluation for parking lots and garages, non-terminal support facilities such as airport police and badging offices, and terminals at large, international airports. Primarily, our review at many airports includes only areas open to the public on the landside and within secure areas. However, DLZ has also performed reviews for employee-only common use areas and other back-of-house secure areas.
Many larger airports are overseen by an authority or appointed board separate from the owner’s other facilities. Often, these authorities have multiple airfields under their control. They function as a separate Title II entity subject to the same requirements as the facility owner. Whether a client requests a limited review of their site(s) or full evaluation, DLZ has the experience necessary to complete these services at the largest of airports in compliance with the requirements of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
