Federal Government

As a firm that has worked with the Federal Government for over 60 years, DLZ is a successful graduate of the Small Business Administration Federal 8(a) Business Development Program. As a proud graduate of the program, we actively support and build relationships with other firms currently in the program, as well as other small business looking for opportunities in the federal market.

We are proud to continue our work with the Federal Government in support of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers mission and vision of providing engineering solutions to our nation’s toughest challenges. Our continued support of the mission has extended to various other entities, including the United States Postal Services, United States Property and Fiscal Office, Federal Bureau of Investigation, and Army National Guard.

We have provided engineering, architecture, and construction management services to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on a variety of civil and military assignments. In fact, DLZ has conducted architectural and engineering design services for each of the districts within the Great Lakes and Ohio River Division and has previously held Architect-Engineering Services Contracts with the Louisville, Pittsburgh, Huntington, Detroit, and Chicago Districts.

DLZ assists the USACE in fulfilling its missions in food control, Great Lakes and inland rivers navigation, ecosystem restoration, and national defense readiness. Our team provides investigations and feasibility studies, conducts design activities ranging from conceptual-level planning through preparation of construction bid documents, and construction phase services.

We are proud to offer complete in-house geotechnical and environmental drilling and sampling capabilities with a dozen drill rigs. Our operations are based on USACE’s policies and procedures for laboratory investigations, materials testing, and analytical services in ER 1110-2-1850 and ER 1110-1-8100. Our materials testing laboratories in Pittsburgh, Columbus, Cleveland, and Burns Harbor, Illinois adhere to AASHTO’s ARML and are validated by the USACE.
