Wind Energy
Wind power has consolidated as a renewable energy source in the last two decades. In fact, by the end of 2020, the global installed capacity surpassed 730 GW, mostly in onshore installation. Technology has evolved and onshore wind turbines have reached an average capacity of 2 MW per unit. Higher capacity factors allow wind power installations to represent over 6% of the global electricity mix.
Through its Latin American subsidiary, DLZ Carbon has positioned itself as a regional leader in engineering services for wind energy. Full services for the balance-of-plant (BoP) have been provided for 124 MW of wind parks in Costa Rica and Honduras for an additional 120 MW of feasibility studies and BoP basic design. We have also developed special expertise in foundation design and review for wind turbines of up to 80 m of height, including pile design and foundation slab design.
There are numerous advantages and challenges to wind power. With DLZ, we’re here to guide you through it all, resulting in the best possible outcome for your project. When it comes to wind energy, you can trust our expertise in this sustainable energy source.
