Parks and Recreation
DLZ has experience reviewing a wide variety of parks and recreation facilities for compliance with the ADA, from small pocket and neighborhood parks to large community and regional parks to sports stadiums, sports complexes, recreation centers, and aquatic centers with a wide variety of amenities. Our evaluation of recreation facilities ensures that access is provided to each different type of activity and that the facilities themselves comply as required by ADA standards.
Common amenities reviewed at parks include play areas, walking paths, ball courts, ball and soccer fields and seating associated with each, pools and splash pads, golf courses, ice rinks, gymnasiums, concessions and restrooms, parking, picnic areas, picnic pavilions, grills, boat launches, fishing platforms, amphitheaters, dog parks, greenways, and trails. DLZ also has experience evaluating large, stand-alone facilities, including zoos, athletic complexes, and baseball stadiums and the amenities and features associated with these.
