Gallia County Jail
DLZ designed the new 32,000 square foot facility that aims to improve safety, address overcrowding, and provide enhanced amenities. The Gallia County Commissioners contracted DLZ to provide architectural and engineering (A/E) services.
The new jail is located on a recently acquired property behind the County Courthouse, which was strategically chosen for its cost efficiency and reduced transportation time between the jail and courthouse. The two-story jail replaces the outdated jail originally built in 1962.
The new Gallia County jail increases bed capacity from 22 to 120 and offers updated security systems, video visitation stations, and dedicated areas for food service and medical needs.
DLZ worked with Teaming Partner, Granger Construction as the Construction Manager at Risk. The completion of the new Gallia County Jail marks a significant milestone for the community. It showcases the commitment of County Commissioners, the Sheriff’s office, and the entire Gallipolis community to create a safer and more efficient correctional facility.
