Sustainability/LEED Certification
Our Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED®) architects and engineers utilize the principles of sustainable design to reduce the carbon footprint and minimize the environmental impact associated with our projects. To us, LEED Certification means more than just keeping up with current building trends. It’s a way for us to positively impact not only the community, but help the environment and world.
We design projects using LEED design principles and have completed projects ranging from LEED® Certified to LEED® Gold. Thus, we actively promote renewable energy and seek opportunities to restore our environment.
Just a few of our designs with LEED Certification include:
- Armed Forces Reserve Center Addition/Alteration — South Bend, Indiana
- Southerly Wastewater Treatment Center — Cleveland, Ohio
- Fire Station No. 2 Replacement — Columbus, Ohio
Our goal is to create a new model of sustainable community development. With this model, we hope to set the standard, working together with the surrounding communities to protect our environment.
DLZ’s LEED Accredited Professionals are experts in sustainable design, LEED Certificate consulting, and LEED building commissioning. Because of this, every DLZ design incorporates sustainable design principles for optimizing energy efficiency and environmental performance. The design of structures that conserve the earth’s resources and save energy is a constant focus at DLZ. For us, sustainability isn’t just something we do: it’s part of our culture. Because of our commitment to sustainability, we’ve even been ranked by Engineering News-Record’s (ENR) as a Top 100 Green Buildings Design Firm.
With LEED Certification, we’re not just designing for now: we’re designing for the future health of the global environment.
