Oakland County Water Resources Commissioner, Asset Management

DLZ provided the Oakland County Water Resources Commissioner (WRC) with professional services related to asset management. WRC initially tasked DLZ with IT projects related to (GIS), the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), and WinCAN Televising software.

The WRC, also asked DLZ, and CH2M Hill, Inc., to assist with developing overall asset management templates “common to all”. The templates would implement numerous Stormwater, Asset Management, and Wastewater Grants received by WRC on behalf of multiple customer communities. These templates were offered to the consultants representing these communities and those completing work directly for the WRC.

On behalf of the Oakland County Water Resources Commissioner, DLZ was responsible for implementing the Asset Management Plan for the City of Walled Lake. The Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) SAW Grant Program funded the project. The scope of the project included fieldwork involving four lift stations and desktop review of 98,000 feet of sanitary sewer. DLZ field crews also performed MACP inspections on over half of the City’s manholes with the remainder conducted by WRC forces.  Final deliverables included a fully developed Asset Management Plan, and Business Risk Analysis performed using Riva Software purchased by the WRC for use by its customer communities.
