Process
This study analyzed the function, structural condition, vehicular access, space requirements, and safety of 5 structures on approximately 7.5 acres of land.
The results of the assessment study were utilized in conjunction with preliminary programming requirements provided by Portage DPW to develop an efficient multi-phase masterplan. The masterplan accounted for the demolition of outdated structures, renovation of administrative and vehicle service spaces, revised parking layouts, the addition of multiple new structures, as well as providing additional covered storage for city service vehicles. Each department’s current and future needs were assessed and recommendations for accessibility and traffic flow were provided.
Also included were proposed renderings of each option and construction cost estimates. Next steps include further development of each structure and execution of phased services.
