Sawmill Parkway Extension Phases A-F
DLZ provided construction inspection and testing services on Delaware’s largest Capital Improvement Project, connecting the existing roundabout at Hyatts Road to 0.25 miles north of US 42 on the southside of the city limits. The extension is 4.3 miles long and consists of a new 4-lane divided roadway, with four new roundabouts at Clark Shaw, Bean-Oller, Ford, and Bunty Station roads as well as signalization and widening at US 42.
DLZ provided the county with a broad scope of services as Trucco Construction performed over 330,000 cubic yards of excavation and more than 160,000 cubic yards of embankment. They also carried out 39,000 feet of storm sewer with 454 structures, various concrete pipe culverts up to 72-inch diameter, and concrete box culverts up to 14 feet by 5 feet. Furthermore, Trucco Construction installed more than 230,000 square yards of cement stabilized subgrade, 99,000 feet of concrete curb and gutter, and more than 61,000 square yards of asphalt. DLZ’s inspectors and technicians ensured the workmanship met the standards specified by ODOT and Delaware.
