DLZ Project Improves the Environment In Urban Cleveland

The Big Creek Watershed Stormwater Management Improvement project has helped restore this urban Cleveland creek back to health. DLZ in collaboration with Biohabitats worked with key public agencies including the Cities of Parma and Cleveland, ODOT, and the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District to restore this tributary of the Cuyahoga River and return it to a more natural flow, thus increasing surrounding wetlands and other habitat for fish and wildlife. The project also curtailed flooding and reduced the volume of sediment and other pollutants that wash into the Cuyahoga River and Lake Erie.
