About the Project

DLZ is providing master planning and concept design for 14 new bus terminals throughout the State of Maharashtra. More importantly, this includes the Panvel Busport, which will be the first of the stations to be built. The new transit center will serve Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) intercity bus services. As a result, it will also provide connection to intracity buses, railway, and taxi services. MSRTC is the public transit system for the state of Maharashtra, India.

The Big Picture

MSRTC is one of the largest transit systems in the world. Above all, there are 16,500 buses in operation and 7 million passengers daily. It embarks on a system-wide modernization of their buses and facilities. Hired in 2016, DLZ provided Schematic Design for 14 new stations throughout the state. The Panvel station initiated the design process. To clarify, it is a prototype for the design of all stations.
