Congratulations to Gary Bowen, CCM, Division Manager for DLZ, who was selected as one of ENR Midwest’s Top 20 Under 40 for 2014! The Top 20 Under 40 recognizes the individual achievement of 20 young professionals who have made lasting contributions to their professions and communities.

“I appreciate the support I have received from DLZ throughout my career here. The company has always supported my desire to grow as a professional and has allowed me the flexibility to contribute to my community and to be involved with the things that are important to me both professionally and personally,” said Bowen.

Gary began his career at DLZ and continues to contribute to the company’s success. He has dedicated his career to improving communities through public infrastructure projects. He has managed improvements to highways, roadways, bridges, waterways, utilities and parks that total over $500 million. He also has been involved in several community based organizations. In 2012 and 2013 he had the honor of founding and serving as Chair of the “Great Scioto Duck Race.” This new event was created as a family-friendly fundraiser for Nationwide Children’s Hospital and includes the sale of rubber ducks prior to the event. Other event activities include a 5K race; a kid’s race; food vendors; and live music. The event culminates with the dropping of the purchased rubber ducks into the Scioto River from one of Columbus’ downtown bridges. This event in its first year grossed more than $93,000 and attracted more than 250 runners and 1,000 spectators.
