Kessinger Joins DLZ to Lead Federal Business Development Efforts

DLZ is pleased to announce the addition of Mark Kessinger. Mark joins the company as a Federal Business Development Coordinator and will lead business development efforts in the federal market, while strengthening the firm’s existing client relationships.

Mark brings over 33 years of experience as a Hydraulic Engineer and Project Manager with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. During his career at the Corps, he managed a wide range of water resources projects including the design and construction of dams, locks, floodwalls and ecosystem restoration projects. He also was the project manager for the dismantling of NASA’s only nuclear reactor in Sandusky, Ohio, and led a team of dam safety experts who evaluated the structural integrity of Buckeye Lake Dam for the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.
Mark also served as the Corps’ Liaison to the State of Ohio and the Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District and was heavily involved in water resource issues affecting Ohio.

DLZ has partnered with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for more than 50 years and the addition of Mark strengthens our water resources capabilities to provide our clients with cost-effective solutions that address their most complex challenges.

In addition to Senior Project Manager, Mark held several positions with the Huntington District including Chief of the Programs and Project Management Division, Chief of the Engineering Management Section, Hydraulic Engineer for the Hydrology and Hydraulics Branch, and Program Manager in the Programs and Project Management Division. He was also Business Development Specialist for the Great Lakes and Ohio River Division and worked as the Corps’ Senior Liaison to the Department of Energy while assigned to Corps headquarters in Washington, DC.
