Overview
DLZ provided bridge design services for the superstructure replacement of Holt Road over Doan Creek, the culvert replacement of Holt Road over the Unnamed Tributary to Doan Creek, and channel improvements to the Unnamed Tributary.

Process
This work included field visits with the Client and EGLE to coordinate the permit requirements, bridge design, local agency and utility coordination, special provisions, cost estimates, and load ratings. The bridge scope of work included bridge deck widening and replacement, railing replacement, beam replacement, and approach reconstruction at the Holt Road bridge. The scope of work for the Unnamed Tributary included replacing the existing CMP culvert with a box culvert, regarding the channel at both ends of structure to be a two-stage channel, and adding rock cross vanes to the downstream portion of the channel to decrease the channel slope and the water velocity. Utility relocation was required for fiber optic conduits attached to the bridge. The bridge rehabilitation was funded using MDOT Local Bridge Program funds.
