Roselle Road and Jane Addams Memorial Tollway Reconstruction

DLZ provided Phase III Construction Engineering Services for the improvements along Roselle Road and the Jane Addams Memorial Tollway (I-90). Roselle Road crosses over I-90 at Mile Post 65.6 in Cook County.

The project included removal, realignment, and reconstruction of Roselle Road and pavement and reconstruction of the curb and gutter. The project also included reconstruction work on Ramp B and Ramp C connecting Roselle Road to the Tollway. Ramp work included removal and reconstruction of pavement and reconstruction of the shoulders with warm-mix asphalt, gutter, and aggregate shoulders. The project has a large structural component with the replacement of Bridge No. 517 which carries Roselle Road over I-90.

The drainage and stormwater management component of the project includes the removal of the existing drainage system. The new drainage structures and pipe and culvert replacement and extension replaced the existing system. A new guardrail, pavement marking and signage, underpass and temporary lighting, and retaining wall were installed.

DLZ provided on-site inspection; contract layout supervision; geotechnical inspection and testing; preparation of records; document maintenance; oversight and management of shop drawings and submittals; oversight and management of pay estimates, change orders, and other contract documents; and Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) during construction. The project was managed through the Tollway’s web-based project management system and adhered to all ISTHA and IDOT standards.
