Dowling Park Athletics Complex

The Outdoor Athletics Complex at Dowling Park has been developed for joint use by Purdue University Northwest (Calumet) for their varsity athletics program and the residents of the City of Hammond. The Complex includes NCAA venues for Softball, Baseball, and Soccer featuring synthetic turf fields and bullpens, dugouts/team benches, individual press boxes with integrated spectator seating, sports field lighting, and two batting cages. The Complex also includes a 6-bank tennis court facility, service building with a ticket office, concessions, restrooms and training room; hospitality plaza; wide circulation walks, landscape plantings, parking lot and service areas.

The Complex was developed as traditional collegiate design theme reflective of the Purdue Calumet Campus and surrounding neighborhood. Entry into the Complex is through a free-standing brick and masonry gateway and canopy. The Complex is secured by a perimeter metal picket fencing with masonry columns. Consistent use of decorative masonry and accent materials unifies the Complexes’ building structures, hospitality plaza and perimeter enclosure.
