Lakeland Regional Sewer District Wastewater Treatment Plant and Collection System

Lakeland Regional Sewer District, Indiana

The Lakeland Regional Sewer District Wastewater Treatment Plant and Collection System is a newly installed sanitary sewer system that services existing facilities around the Barbee Lake Chain in Kosciusko County, Indiana. This new system, funded by United States Rural Development, provides a means of removing onsite septic systems, improves water quality, and allows for future sustained growth.

The treatment facility consists of a 0.40 MGD AeroMODtype extended aeration plant with flow equalization, an access road, administration and maintenance building, and sludge storage.

The collection system is a low pressure sewer (LPS) system involving three (3) main pump stations, twelve hundred (1,200) 2horsepower grinder stations, over 175,000 linear feet of force main and over 65,000 linear feet of sewer laterals.

DLZ provided professional engineering services from preliminary design to construction completion. These services included all aspects of engineering (civil, process, structural, electrical, building, etc.) in developing the project. DLZ prepared Preliminary Engineering Reports as required by Federal funding, completed final design and permitting, assisted and coordinated the procurement of equipment, coordinated bidding and awarding of contracts, conducted construction phase services and management of contract documents, conducted full-time inspection services during construction, and conducted review and coordination of items during the warranty post-construction phase of the project.
